lt8One of my user unable to open his Lotus Notes 8. One error message comeout while he open up a Lotes Notes 8. The Error is ” Unable to Initilize VSE Engine”. This is the first time that i facing this kind of error. So, i find some solution on Google.

I found 2 solution. This error is cause by crash file on McAfee and Lotus Notes.  It will re-added a few file on Notes.ini that will not allow you to access on Lotus Notes. Below is the 2 solution.  I use 1 solution to solved my case this morning.

Solution No. 1.

a) Open up the Notes.ini file. It normally allocated at C:\Notes. Please use the search option to find this file. It may appeared more that one Notes.ini file. Take the biggest size.

b) While Notes. ini open please find this word.

AddInMenus=NCMenu

EXTMGR_ADDINS=NCExtMgr

c) Delete both file as above. And try open up you Lotus Notes.

Solution No. 2.

a) Recreate Notes.ini file. Open up the Notes.ini file. It normally allocated at C:\Notes. Backup the Notes.ini file first.

b) Open the original Notes.ini file and delete everything after line “DST=1.”. Save the Notes.ini file.

c) Launch the Lotus Notes and automatically asking you to reconfigure back you Lotus Notes. Browsing you Lotus Notes ID. Normally it allocated at C:\Notes\Data.
