This morning i have received another issue on Lotus Notes email. One of my user need to open his Old mail archive. Actually he has left the company 2 years ago. All the email detail has been deleted from my Lotus Domino. The he joining back on last October 2010. And i created all new mail detail include with new name on the database.
He need to open his old archive on 2007 from external hard disk. But one error comeout ;
“This database has local access protection (encrypted) and you are not authorized to access it. “
Why this error come out. Because the old archive database is using different ID with the new name on Lotus Notes. Try why Lotus not able to recognize this old archive file. So solution :
1) Get back the Old lotus ID.
2) Save the old .ID to your computer.
3) Switch the ID on your current lotus notes. (File –> Security –> Switch ID)
4) Type in the old lotus password. It recommend for Lotus Administrator to keep all the Lotus User ID at one database. Easy to trace back if any problem happen.
5) Lotus will open the application base on your old .ID
6) Then open up your Old Archive as normal. (File–> Open–> Lotus Notes Application–> the browse the location of your old archive)
7) Now you be able open up your old lotus notes archive.
